The Beauty of Chin Swee Temple

I believe many had went to Genting Highlands before and on the way up there, you might had seen a pagoda among the moutains and trees. But, how many of us had actually find the entrance to the place where the beautiful tower was standing or would actually spend some time to enter there?

Chin Swee Caves Temple, is the name where you saw that beautiful pagoda. Founded and built by the late Tan Sri Dato' Seri Lim Goh Tong, who's also the founder of Genting Highland, the location of the temple was found during the building of Genting. He spotted a cool rocky slope, covered with green topical vegetation dotted with flowering stream, which reminded him of the Chin Swee Crag, back in Penglai Fillage in Fujian, China, the place he was born.

The first stage of development of the temple costs about RM12 million and it took about 18 years to complete the temple. This temple was officially opened on 29th March 1994 by Tun Dr. Ling Liok Sik who was then the Minister of Transport.

This is a part of the temple where many rocky steps linked around the place.

Just after the entrance, you can find a nine-storey Pagoda and was decorated with many figurines of Buddha . It was said that there were 10,000 'blessing lamps' placed inside the pagoda for the devotees and due its popularity, there's only 2000 lamps were left in there.

Moving straight up, there's a big compound which you have to walk up the stairs to reach it. There are inscription on plague, stating about the history of the temple and describing the role of the late Tan Sri Dato' Seri Lim Goh Tong for the temple.

Besides the plague, there is a statue of the late Tan Sri Lim which was erected by Genting Group and the Chin Swee Temple Building Society in order to show appreciation towards his leadership and his immense philanthropic contribution to society.

Looking at the empty compound, you can feel as if you are in China. The cool breeze and the beauty of it can't be easily described in words.

Located on the right, there's a small Buddhist Temple which is open for offerings by the visitors.

The look from above, down to one of the temple below, people can enjoy the view here.

Besides worshipping the Reverend Chin Swee, people who visit the place can also pray to the Kuan-yin and Tong-san-zhong.

Located a little behind the place, a large Buddha statue was placed there.

Near the statue, there's a section named, Journey to Enlightenment, with the aim to discourage people from conducting bad activities. Along the trail, visitors can witness the story of the ten Chambers of Hell where an evil person would experiences the horrifying punishment in hell.

There are still many attractions that can be found there. Visitors can also spent a night there or had a vegetarian meal at the temple.

For interested viewers, you can have a look on this map where it stated the location of other kinds of attractions.
