Sekinchan - Golden Field

Sekinchan is a small town located in Selangor, somewhere nearby Kuala Selangor. It is one of the major rice producing areas in Malaysia. In Chinese, it means "The Village Suitable for Plantation". Sekinchan is actually a fishing village before its paddy plantation gone popular. You may go there by car, which takes you about 2 hours of driving. On the day we went, we had no idea why was it so jam. It took us almost 3 hours to reach there.

It is my friend's kampung, so we asked her to be our tour guide to there as we these KL people never see paddy field before. We were keep asking her whether is it the season where we can see the golden paddy field. We went there with great expectation to see the golden field and also afraid that we might ended up with disappointment.

When we reached there, it was already noon. We met up with our friend's cousin, who is actually many years elder than us. He brought us to have lunch at a restaurant to have chicken rice. Why are you still eating chicken rice when you can have it in KL? The chicken rice is different from the chicken rice you can have in KL.The skin of the chicken is crispy while the meat is tender.

My friend's cousin is really funny and has a good sense of humor. Everyone laugh at his jokes.

After lunch, my friend brought us to the Nine-th Emperor temple which is nearby the paddy field. We didn't end up with disappointment because we were in the right timing to see the golden field.

It was a very hot weather.

Hot, but luckily it was windy too.

Pray that everything goes smoothly.

The paddy field!

You may drive around the paddy field. The roads are connecting to the town. Many visitors stopped by to take pictures.

Bye paddy field!

After paddy field, our next destination is the beach! My friend said there isn't really a beach in Sekinchan. They are mainly jetties. She brought us to Pantan Redang where there is a beautiful tree house built. The Malaysia movie, "The Matchmaker" filmed at here.

A pair of newly wed came here to take their photos. Lovey dovey.

It was already evening by the time we left Pantai Redang. After so many walking and playing around, we went to have dinner. My friend didn't bring us to the most well known place for seafood dinner. However, the place that she brought us to have to make booking earlier or else you have to wait for it. Her cousin helped us to do booking earlier in the afternoon so we did not have to wait. The food was nice and the price is very cheap! We ordered 6-7 dishes and it was only like RM 80+. I'm sure you can't get that price in KL.

Splendid dinner.
Sekinchan is a nice place for one day trip. Another friend whose kampung is also Sekinchan couldn't make it because he was sick or else he would bring us to his relative's orchard. I am a typical teenager that grow up in KL and I have not visited to orchard before. So I am waiting for the next time to go visit the orchard.

On the way back, you may also drop a visit at Kuala Selangor to look at the fireflies.
