Childhood Memories, Now and Then

Remember back to the days where all your childhood memories were filled with unlimited kind of games with your friends with all kinds of silly rules? i did. I remember playing around with my friends and the types of games we play, really have all sort of silly rules. Examples? The one i remember the most is the 'Batu Seremban' games with all kind of rules we can think about.

And remember when you and your friends who shared the same cartoon characters? and you people start acting as one of them and their roles? Well, again I did. I remember when the cartoon 'Tom and Jerry' were famous among my age group. How much we enjoy watching their never ending fight. Back to the days, all we thought about is the games we going to play when we met out friends, what games should we bring along (examples: snake and ladders, soft drinks cap, rubber bands to make a long strings, and more), where are we going to play and etc. All we ever argued about was the amount of stuff we have or the colour and size.

Another famous games we shared in our (then) childhood.

But all this memories remains as our childhood memories. It was filled with much sweaty and outgoing experience. We all came back home tired but fun and we can't stop talking about it when our parents are somewhere near. Ahh. All these memories, it's sure is a kind of unforgettable ones.

Yet, as the world start growing, more and more tech stuff were invented. Like the world now. Kids were hardly seen outdoor. The only game the generation now and then share was the running and chasing game. Besides that, nothing, almost nothing seems to be the same anymore.

Kids now were comparing on what kind of technology they have. Start from Samsung phone to an iPad. All they play was the latest games they can find and through there, they compared their scores with the others. They are so dedicated to the games to the extend that they placed more time and energy on these, much more likely, the never-ending games. They makes sure they 'feed' their virtual pets, completing high score for their games and more.

Almost all kids now have a cellphone with them. An advance cellphone.

Video games replaced the board games or any other games we previously had played.

Computers now are part of their lives.

Nothing seems to be connecting the childhood memories from the two generations. Long time ago, none of us have any cellphones until we entered secondary school, and that was only with black and white screen. Believe me, we were all very satisfied and happy with it. Comparing to the kids now, they request for trendy phones. If they were given phones that are not good enough, they will throw tantrums and would feel ashamed if they showed it to their friends.

Well, at least the generation gap between the generation now and then weren't that big. If you mentioned something from your then childhood, at least the generation now still can identified and knew what is it. But, it may not last till the nexr generation if their childhood are going to be replaced with more and more advance games or accessories.
